The Plastic Recycling Department creates new products from plastic materials following the guidelines laid out in the Container and Packaging Recycling Law.
Plastic containers and packaging waste is collected from households, and any foreign objects and any residual waste are removed. We then sort the plastic by material and process it through a crushing, washing, density-separation, and drying process. The waste is then turned into raw materials such as plastic pellets to be used in manufacturing or sold. We strive to improve the quality of our products as well as increase the recycling rate to establish a closed-loop recycling system in Japan.
Currently in operation are Kochi Plastic Recycling Center’s Plastic Recycling Department I and Asahikawa Plastic Recycling Center’s Plastic Recycling Department II in Hokkaido.
Additionally, we have obtained ISO9001/JIS Q 9091 as well as the ISO14001 certifications. With our Plastic Recycling Department at the center, we focus on quality control and environmental management of our “Plastic Containers and Packaging Recycling” business.

While we follow the Containers and Packaging Recycling Law, there is a wide variety of plastic types in the plastic packaging waste we collect from households.

Plastic containers and packing waste is collected from households. Each plastic type is removed of foreign objects and goes through a sorting, density-separation, grinding, washing, and drying process to be turned into plastic pellets.

A wide variety of plastic types from plastic containers and packaging materials are reborn into high-quality plastic raw materials. The plastic is shipped to manufacturers and used for various plastic products. Plastic that cannot be recycled for use in product manufacturing will be reused in the production of industrial fuels.
